Do you know where your jewellery comes from?

Most jewellery is somewhat handmade. But by whom and where? Is it an industrial process? And which materials have been used? Mato only offers you original and durable jewellery, handmade from real silver and other noble materials.

Everything designed and made by myself, in my own studio in the Netherlands.

did you know?

True enamel (or vitreous enamel, or hot enamel) is the ancient art of chemically binding glass to metal through a firing process. The glass is crushed into powder and further molten over metal with different techniques, some of which -Plique-à-jour, Cloisonné and Champlevé- you can find here.

Did you know?

Many are the ways one may give form to silver. Two techniques that I enjoy produce organic, "free forms" that resemble nuggets, the raw state in which silver is found in nature. In water casting, molten silver is poured over water. In fusing, small pieces of silver are (partially) melted side by side, causing them to fuse. In both, expertise must be used to avoid the formation of a boring blob of solid silver.
